Dos policías originarias de Ruanda, pertenecientes a la fuerza de la ONU, fueron asesinadas a tiros en su casa en el norte de Haití.

En una declaración, la Policía Nacional de Ruanda dijo que las dos policías, fueron baleadas por atacantes no identificados en su lugar de residencia en Cabo Haitiano.

Las mujeres fueron identificadas como Lillian Mukansonera y Aimiee Nyiramudakemwa.

La ONU ha mantenido una fuerza de paz en Haití desde la rebelión que derrocó al presidente Jean-Bertrand Aristide en el 2004.
